Radio Unfriendly
“The ‘ford squad” have announced what appears to be the first big wave of live music this year with “Radio Unfriendly” at the Shrewsbury Arms – Friday 6th Feb 2009, 7:30pm onwards.
The Manchesteroid band Sophie’s Pigeons are set to play “gauche, exuberant off kilter indie-folk” music.
MausKramp will be there with some new material of a “Bad tempered Rock ‘n’ Roll Disco” flavour.
A band wearing masks, Hot Bone will be “turning against all which has the stale narrator”. Should be a tad different.
We Rock Like Girls Don’t are also playing. For the namedrop, they have performed with The Killers as well as headlined at club NME in Nottingham and Glasgow and have Radio 1 airplay. They are “loud, violent and brash” and list The Jesus & Mary Chain, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Sonic Youth as their influences.
Hello Big World will be putting on an acoustic set, and claim “We are cool”.
Entry is £3.50 or £2.50 if you have a NUS card.
